5 Postpartum Thoughts

1- At my 6 week OBGYN appointment, I had the blue check-up sheet tied around my waist like a sarong when the doctor came in. I was also nursing Sadie and opening up a snack for Crew. When he came in, I had to pick Sadie up and hold on to the sheet so that I could move my ginormous stroller out of the way to get on the exam table.  The doctor (who I love!) asked how everything was going.  I told him that everything was actually going ok and a lot better than it looked.  Hah!  That was a mom life moment FOR SURE.

2-  A friend made a really great point the other day.  She was with me when someone came up and asked the baby.  So nice of that person to ask! but my friend mentioned that the minute the baby is born, and the mom is no longer pregnant, no one really asks about the mom any more.  The "cute" pregnant lady that everyone helps and smiles at in the grocery store is now just the slightly over-weight lady with the baby and bags under her eyes.  So, if you have a friend who just had a baby, take her some chocolate and send her a funny meme you find on Pinterest....because she's pretty exhausted.

3-  I worked out for the first time since Sadie last Friday at Pure Barre.  The next morning, I realized just how much I haven't used any kind of abdominal muscle in a very.long.time. Ohhh the pain.  Good pain, though.

4- Dressing a post partum body is the absolute hardest. I can't wear dresses because of nursing and I can't fit into anything from before baby quite yet.  So basically I'm left with leggings and t-shirts. The other day I needed to wear something besides those leggings, so I put on these maternity pants (why aren't ALL pants stretchy?) and this cute top from Shein.  I'm on the hunt now for more cute tops to make dressing during this awkward stage more fun. This site has a bunch of them!

5- Newborns really are the absolute cutest and the sweetest and the squishiest. I tell Sadie at least 25 times a day that I just. want. to. eaaaaaatttt. herrrr!!!! She's amazing. When she wakes up for the morning, the boys race in her room to love on their "Sae Sae".

I hope y'all are having a great week!  We're on Spring Break over here and loving it!

Your family is just beautiful, I'm glad you are all doing so well. And YES- #2... no one cares about the mom at all once the baby gets here!! :(

I'm not a mom yet but I agree the majority of people only focus on the baby once he/she is here, and what about momma?!?! You look amazing, and I LOVE that first photo of you!! :) gorgeous lady!

Your outfit looks great! Dressing postpartum is so tough! And I hear you on bringing a new mom chocolate. Or a not so new mom... :)
