Shoes: c/o Rack Room Shoes
My pregnancy and labor with Charlie and Walker were so different from each other. I had a miscarriage before Charlie, so during my pregnancy with him, I barely moved. I was still teaching, but the extent of my exercise routine was (maybe) a walk once a week. I was terrified to move. I thought anything I did would hurt him.
I was in labor with Charlie for 24 hours and I pushed for 1.5 hrs. That's a longggggg timmmmeeeee.
With Walker, I was chasing around a baby (the boys are 19 months apart), I was working out several times a week, and I was teaching dance (and actually moving while I was teaching.)
I was in labor with Walker for 3 hours...first contraction to baby boy out. That's pretty quick.
I know...absolutely know...that the difference in the labors was the fact that I exercised throughout Walker's pregnancy. And just as a side note....with baby boy 3, I'm terrified I'm going to have him in the car on the way to the hospital. (I'm going to be that lady on the news.) Just with it being January and the possibility of snow/ice, and with this baby potentially coming even faster than Walker. I've been trying to show Noel Call the Midwife episodes so he can be a little prepared, but he's not going for it.
This pregnancy, I try...keyword try...to do cardio/weights at the gym on Monday, Body Pump on Wednesday, and Body Flow on Friday, with walks with the boys throughout the week. This bicycle ^ is my mom's new ride, and it is SO awesome!! (The boys thought it was pretty awesome, too.) :)
It's really nice having a cute pair of tennis shoes to work out in. It makes getting out to the gym or out for a walk a little easier. These pink ones from Rack Room Shoes are so fun!
I hope y'all have a great weekend...(I'm hoping for some perfect fall weather over here.)

You are such a gorgeous active little mama! I love that you are staying so active during pregnancy, I don't have any experience but I've heard it makes all the difference. Someday when I'm a mom-to-be I am so going to make it my goal to stay as active (and as fashionable) as you!
I had no idea that exercise could help with the pregnancy- but hey that makes sense! I love how active you are!
I am so fascinated by Body Flow classes. Man, I guess a move to Raleigh is needed so then I can enlist you as a workout buddy ;)
I give you so much credit for being active during pregnancy!! With #1 I was very active and had a 15 hour labor with 3 hours of pushing. With #2 I basically cuddled with my 2 yr old on the couch!! My labor was exactly 1 hour long. It was CRAZY!!! I'm also due in January (in WI, yikes) and live 30 min from the hospital. I'm so scared we won't make it!!!
These pictures kill me!! You are super mom!
Working out really does make a huge difference! My Dr told me he's convinced it makes a huge difference in healing after the babe as well!
The bike is so genius! I did spin until 39 weeks! Biking is just so easy on the body but still a good workout!
Okay seriously you look more adorable in workout clothes being pregnant than lost women I work with (aka...me) who TRY to look cute on a daily basis. LOVE THAT BIKE!!! You're so sweet. Can't wait to see how this labor goes for you. I know it'll be great :)
And by "lost women" I meant MOST women haha
You are such an inspiration to me, Ashley, seriously! I have went through phases in life of being super active, and not active at all- but I'm finally on a path of consistently working out and it makes EVERYTHING better! :)
I REALLY want to do better about working out during my next pregnancy. I worked full time during both my pregnancies so I didn't have a lot of energy left over for working out, but I need to make it more of a priority next time!!
WOW! I'm not even preggo and I can't move like that. I've got to get back to my routine! Vacations always throw me off. I miss my pilates and walking! An older friend of mine (her kids are all 5-10 years older than me) likes to tell the story of how much easier it got with her kids. She has four. A day with the first, half a day for the second, three hours for her third and FIFTEEN MINUTES for her fourth kid. She jokes that he practically walked out.
These pictures of you are adorable. Being active makes such a difference. I hope you don't have your baby in your car, keep a couple blankets in there, just in case ;)
I love that you're still doing a leg hold during pregnancy. That's awesome. During my first pregnancy, I always felt too tired after work to move any more. But during my twin pregnancy, I was active the entire time. And it did make such a huge difference during delivery. Hope you don't end up being the lady on the news. :)
How cute are you! Your births sound the same as mine, except reversed. My first was so long and hard. I worked out a ton with my first and even taught Body Flow through 6 months with both of them. (The third one not so much as there wasn't time). With the third we decided to actually do a home birth, as I almost had the second in the car. It was amazing....see here if you want to know more. http://loveallovertheland.blogspot.com/2014/03/our-homebirth-and-meeting-ezra.html
I love seeing an active preggo momma! You go girl!
When I was pregnant with my first, I was such a paranoid! I was online everyday researching on what could help me have an easy delivery and all. My only exercise that time was walking. I walked around our house from 30-50 rounds! And when I was 30 weeks up already, I tried squats also since I have read that it really helps to have an easy delivery! :)
