Les Mis

Boots: Cousin Couture, Top: Gap Outlet (similar), Skirt: JCrew (similar similar), Pearls: Loft, Tights: Target (exact)

One of my favorite things to see is a bunch of people, dressed up, walking towards a theatre. Nerd alert, for sure...but it always makes me so excited.  My mom and I went to see Les Miserables this past Saturday, and although there were a few things I would have tweaked, but overall, I thought it was really great.

The actress who played Eponine (who happens to be my favorite character) had a voice that was so amazing, I can't stop talking about it. (She was Lea Salonga good...no lie) I was looking through her bio during intermission, and home girl is a senior in high school!!!! I mean??  What?!  I even super stalked her and found her on FB later, and sent her a message telling her how amazing she was. I am seriously the biggest creeper. (But in my defense, never hesitate to give out a genuine compliment...most artists don't get enough credit for their talent and hard work!)

I also just realized what my theatre/dance calling in life is.  I should be hired to go to the final rehearsals of a show to clean it up a little bit.  Fix some staging issues, add a breath to a scene, help them rethink a costume decision.  Kinda like Olivia Pope: theatre version.

PS.  This is what I wore to the show. :)

you mean you didn't wear jeans to the theatre? :p

I think that the world needs an Olivia Pope for the theatre world. You are right, you'd be perfect.

You look fabulous. I definitely agree that it's fun to see people getting dressed up. That is crazy to me that she's in high school. And now you've made me want to go to the theater...and buy a pink skirt. Haha hope you have a great Wednesday.

Loving this outfit girl - you look fabulous as always. And Les Mes is one of my FAVORITE shows to see! I wasn't a fan of the movie but it could be that seeing it on broadway ruined it for me!

Love the outfit, but I really love that you love Lea Salonga. Defintely my favorite Disney voice! =)We have to get together and talk musicals!

So true - sometimes being a creeper is worth it, when you're able to make someone's day! That's awesome though - I love a good stage experience!

I totally get what you mean as far as your arts calling! I can never go to a show and just enjoy it. I'm always analyzing the musicality and spacing on stage and whether the lighting cues actually match the feel of each scene haha. I think you would be ah-mazing at this job :)

I love Les Mis so much. I might have already told you this but I had a Cosette doll when I was a girl. :D

Um, can I join you in this Olivia Pope theater style living?! Cleaning dances is my absolute favorite part. Choreographing them, yeah yeah. Teaching them, yeah yeah. But after years of old Cuban ballet teachers and their crazy cleaning techniques I love cleaning those pieces up!

So... this reminds me, I need to watch the Les Mis dvd that my husband bought me for Christmas! I should get on that.

You are so right! She probably really, really appreciate your taking the time to send her a message, creeper or not!

Loving this look on you, the peach skirt looks so pretty and fresh! I am bringing my daughter to go see The Sound of Music at the local theater in a couple of weeks and I can't wait, she's my little future star, always singing and dancing;)

I think it was sweet of you to message her!! Artists often don't get the recognition they deserve! Glad you had fun!!

I always wanted to play Gavroche (aside from the obvious problems with that). As an actress I WISH someone had the job of coming in with fresh eyes and sometimes cleaning up a director's vision. x

I also love to see the audience all dressed up to go watch a play or musical. It is almost like stepping back in time to when people dressed up for everything!

Eponine is always my favorite! I just love Les Mis so much! I went to the local production last fall and I was so impressed by the local talent. It was shocking to think that Marius is just a plumber or whatever.

I love musical theater! I have seen Les Mis at least twice...I'm thinking three times, but now I can't remember. What an amazing show!! Also, your outift is adorable, of course :)

Your hair is looking so good! And I love the outfit. I totally understand your creeping. Anytime I see someone in a movie or in a band that is awesome, I have to IMDB them and then Google. I need to know their story because I want to see how they got to where they are now. I get it :-)

I just love this outfit so much! I am the same kind of critiquer as you. Sometimes it gets in the way, so see the messy, little stuff. But if you could make a career out of it...Awesome!!!

Alright that is literally like the cutest skirt my eyes have ever seen!!! I'm obsessed. I so badly want to see Les Mis live! You should totally waltz into that theatre and make them hire you for that exact position. You'd be amazing!!

I also love that you reached out to that girl (seriously a senior in HS?!! That's insane!!) and paid her a well deserved compliment. I know that meant so much to her! :)
