I really need to do some "fall cleaning" in my closet...the whole deal, too. Deciding what needs to go, refolding everything, trying to create fall outfits with what I have....things like that. I started doing this the other day, and it lasted for about 3 minutes, BUT I figured out a new way to wear this dress!
I've had this dress since before the boys were born, and it's perfect for sitting still in, but not so great for picking babies up and having them pull and tug on you. I was about to put it in my "shop my closet" pile (my sister, Jessica and I are going to be selling some of our clothes soon!), but then I saw this pin, and remembered my own advice from this post (duh!), and decided to save it for more wear!
I'm loving all of these "transition to fall" posts, by the way. I think this is the season for THE best fashion! Excited for it!

Looks great! Thanks for the idea, I have a similarly shaped dress that I didn't know what to do with - and now I know. :) Found you through The Pleated Poppy.
I love the blue and red together! You look gorgeous :) I have some dresses like that, to -- great for sitting still but not so great for kids. I should try putting a button-up under them!
It's great "rediscovering" things in your closet and restyling them! I need to do a good closet purge and find hidden gems tucked away in there.

I do a "shop my closet" pile that is for my sister to just grab everything and put it in her closet ;) I really miss living near her and her closet! Love that oxford under the dress!

I LOVE the way you are wearing this dress. You look fantastic. I love how we can take office apparel and make it even more versatile with looks like this. I also need to clean out my closet or at least clean off the bed in the guest room from failed attempts at throwing together last minute outfits!
This outfit is gorgeous! Love the chunky pearls! X Jane http://janeheinrichs.blogspot.com

I have several shirts and skirts that are not good if you have a little kids crawling all over you, as yea people might get a little show :)
