Mother/Son Date Night

The Paul Taylor Dance Company put on a children's matinee at the DPAC this past Saturday, so my sweet Charlie and I went on a special date to Durham.

Of course it's in his blood to love the arts, and Charlie did....he lovedddd it.  He danced throughout the performance (our seat neighbors talked about what a good audience he was) and enjoyed watching the "behind the scenes' look they gave in between acts (with the ladders and the lights).  The company also had drummers in the lobby after the show, along with snacks and face painting.  What a fun show!!

I'm so grateful to live in a place that appreciates and celebrates the arts so much...and loved my special date with my handsome boy.

I hope you had a great weekend!

PS.  I also had a chance to participate in Apricot Lane's grand opening in Durham this past weekend. We were supposed to have a fashion show, but because of the rain, we took the event inside the store. You can see a picture from the night here on my Instagram and here on Apricot Lane's FB page.
Linking up with Molly.

Aww yay! What a great date night w/ Charlie (whom I have a biased adoration for since him & Charles share the same name). Coincidentally, I posted about a dance date night as well today haha :) P.S. I read through Molly's post about the Apricot Lane Grand Opening... You looked gorgeous!

Aww I love this. We spent a day at Megan's dance competition last week and she won her first solo event! So proud :)

I love when I see parents having one on one dates with their kids. And that's so cool that they did a show just for kids since they're often not very welcome at shows.

This was so sweet! What a little gentleman! I don't have children yet but when I do I hope to be able to expose them to the arts. I think teaching them appreciation for the arts at a young age is important! Plus, going to events like this helps them learn how to behave in "grown up" places (am I right? I've just always thought this would be the case?).

What fun that you got to experience this with your little man! :-)

How neat! I've said it before, but I hope when we have kids we'll still live somewhere like this with these opportunities.

That is so sweet! When you were telling us about that the other night, it pulled on my heart strings! It's such a great feeling when your kids enjoy the same things you do.
