DIY Pocket T-Shirt

Sometimes, I'm in the mood for a jeans and t-shirt day.  I noticed that I had about 756 plain shirts in my closet, so I wanted to spice one of my t-shirts up a little bit.  I headed out to JoAnns (if you follow me on Instagram you saw how my head was getting all swirly there), and bought this fabric patch for about a dollar.  The t-shirt came from Walmart...so this entire shirt and project cost me less than $5!

I cut the fabric square into a smaller piece (by the way, I have a lot of this left over...so if you live close by and want it, it's all yours!), ironed it in to a pocket shape, and then hand stitched it on to the shirt.  It took me no time at all to spice up a basic tee!  (Grey shirt is super wrinkled because 2 little boys kept driving their monster trucks over it) :-)

And yes, I'm facing the complete opposite way to capture a get picture.  Good news...I'm taking a photography class with my friend, Kristen in a few weeks...so things are going to go up from here!  :-)

Happy Friday!  Have a great weekend!!

Love it....actually I do know how to hand sew so this works for me! Don't even ask how to turn on a machine...I need to learn that life skill. :)

This is such a cute idea!! I love how it turned out. I have a long sleeve tee that I've been meaning to spice up but haven't done anything with it yet. This reminded me that I need to do something about it!

That's such a good idea! I love spicing up shirts to make them special. And cool that you're taking a photography class, I should do that too! I can never get the image I have in my head, to look the same as the photo.

Absolutely love this!! Such a cute idea. I think if I could choose a fabric it would either be chevron on sparkle :-)
Happy Mother's day!
PS. Is it ok if I use a pic that I'm going to use for my linkup this week for your series or should I choose something else?
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
