Every year I take the boys to Farm Days, and every year I think "I will never do this again." (See the boys looking all sweet and little last year.) How do I forget how much I really can't stand this thing until I actually get there? In theory it's a really great idea...lots of animals to look at and tractors to ride, but in reality, there's way too many people standing in way too many lines, with way too many germs.
But, the boys really like it...so I guess that's why I go. (That, and the fact that there is amazing ice cream!) Walker played Houdini the whole time and would escape from his stroller faster than I could blink. But they loved riding on the tractors and Charlie especially loved looking at the little baby chicks. And seeing him so excited over holding one kinda made it all worth it.
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!!

Your pictures are great.. but I can see why it is less than ideal!
i agree - petting animals doesn't seem great to me BUT I'm sure your boys LOVE it!! and I'm sure I'll do the same thing!
We went, too! Luckily, we showed up right at 9:00, and it wasn't too crazy. As soon as it started getting insane, we retreated to the car.
HAHA! I say that about SO many things.. but those are the things our kids remember most. =) Looks like lots of fun!
Aww it looks like they had a wonderful time even if you didn't, ha!

aww this is so sweet! I love the farm! old or young.
It is better in theory isn't it?? :) We are lucky enough that my grandparents own a farm in KY so we can venture up there and pet goats and horses and cows then!

It's nice of you to take them...the memories will probably be important to them later on!
How fun! Our neighborhood had its annual Spring Fling yesterday. It always sounds like a good idea but I was by myself and one of my boys was running one direction and the other was trying to run off. I wanted to meet some people in my hood but couldn't because I was sweating chasing them down. And the baby just about pulled my top down. Great.

Little Walker, how sneaky!! ;) so glad the boys had a great time and that you got yourself some delicious ice cream!!
PS- we never facetimed. Makes me sad. This week!!!!
I have a neighbor that has girls that are in the pre-babysitting stage of life. One of them would be good to take with you on outings like this. They like to get on the kids level, and extra hands are always welcome.
I love going to farms like that. If you're ever back in Salt Lake with your boys take them to Wheeler Farm. It's my favorite.
These photos are adorable - the boys are SO cute!

Did you take them by yourself? I totally have these "I forgot how much I really don't like taking my kids here" moments. Maybe I should write it down next time. We have a place we go to that's about 2 hours away....and it's great for photo ops but it usually ends in tear for every single kid of mine. We swore we wouldn't go back....and then come fall, where do we decide to go? :)
aww farm days. so cute :)
me and jerry always say that once we have kids, we're totally getting a yearly zoo pass!
I could see how that would be frustrating, but I guess if that isn't what the boys remember it probably doesnt matter as much. That's probably why you keep going!
Oh my goodness so much fun! Love farms! However, I too would hate the germs and lines!
Haha looks like the boys had lots of fun!
I love your pictures. What a sweet experience. I'm so in love with anything farm related. I'd love to move to one someday!

So many things sound like good ideas until you are actually doing them! :) It does look like a neat experience, though. I love the little baby chick picture. So sweet!
Pack your bags, gather your adorable little family, and come on down to Texas. We have horses, cows, and chicken. The neighbors even have goats and a few donkeys. I can assure you there are no lines here, that's for sure! Bring your camera. Bring your awesomeness. I'll even feed you. =)
Blessings + Hugs,
Nicole
These pictures are adorable!!! I definitely don't like standing in lines, though. :-)
I think the same thing when I take my boys somewhere by myself where there's tons of people around. Glad you took them though, they look like they had fun! The pictures are too cute!
It looks like they had a lot of fun!! And i hope you had ice cream....that's sounds so good right now.
adorable baby chicks & your cute boys - too much sweetness!
I would go anywhere for yummy ice cream!
