Letters

Me, my sister Sarah, and my sister Jessica

Dear Family,  I really needed you this week and you totally stepped up to help me.  I appreciate that more than you know.

Dear Coca-Cola, I'm really not a big fan of soda (quit my Diet Mt. Dew cold turkey in college), but somehow, since I was pregnant with Walker, I crave you on an hourly basis.  Even after reading this article, I still crave you.

Dear Charlie, Your comment, "Walker is my best brother; I made him feel better, Mommy" totally made up for me overhearing, "Walker, let's go mess up our bathroom" the other day.

Dear Anyone who has ever been inside a mall, You know that amazing smell that always comes out of The Body Shop?  And how the employees always tell you that it's a "mix of a few different scents" whenever you ask them what the stuff is?  Well, this shampoo and conditioner makes my hair smell exactly like it.  Amazingggg!

Dear Friends,  I'm interested....think about the one blog that you read all the time, (besides mine of course...wink, wink).  I really want to know what it is about that particular blog that makes you go back to it every day.  I'd love to know why.

I hope you have a great weekend!!
Linking up with Ashley and Lauren

I wish I could quite my Diet Coke cold turkey!
"let's go mess up the bathroom". Oh my.

I usually go back to the blogs I read because of great content. Great pictures help, but great content always keeps me coming back. :) I have a long list of favorites, and you know I always come by yours!
I'd love to hear your favorites.

Happy Friday!

Hope your bathroom isn't to messed up:)
I was completely addicted to coca cola for about 2 years- cut it out cold turkey a few months ago.. hard stuff!
The reason I go to blogs is to learn from others experiences but what draws me back is when you can tell they have a heart for people... Must be why I'm drawn to yours as well.
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

diet coke is my weakness although I have cut down my consumption alot! I'm scared to read the article. ha!!

Hmm, I have a few favorites that I always check but they vary based on the topic. Definitely content pulls me in and pictures too.

You and your sisters are so beautiful! :) mmm I love me an ICE cold coca cola!!

Sometimes there is just nothing like good old Coca-Cola. :)

What keeps me going back to a blog is the content. I don't care if a person has 10 funny quote pictures or gorgeous landscape photos. I want them to blog on their blog. Even if someone is just writing about their weekend, I would rather read that instead of "Look at this pretty stuff I found on Pinterest".

(Not that some Pinterest posts aren't okay. But I have come across blogs that are almost nothing but that!)

Love Charlie's letter!!

As for blogs, I read different ones for different reasons... Some are more shallow than others (like getting outfit ideas), but a lot of the ones I'm finding myself reading lately are ladies that I want to learn from (especially mommas), and people who are just real.

I love the taste of soda but it started giving me terrible stomach problems. I've stopped drinking soda almost entirely and I feel so much better!

My favorite blogs share their lives with their readers and I also really enjoy blogs that make me laugh.

Oh man, I could even bring mysefl to click on the Coke article...I am a Dt. Dr. Pepper addict!! And I need that shampoo in my life...anything mango has my vote!

I have too many favorites to list! But, you know I love fashion and funny! That's what I tend to gravitate towards.

I quit soda a while ago too, except for ginger ale. I loooooove ginger ale. And cherry coke whenever I'm PMS-ing ... So maybe I haven't quit soda after all? lol

That is hilarious, let's go mess up the bathroom! I love hearing the weird things little boys do. My mother in law is full of them after raising all boys. And the body shop scent! Right? I used to have it pinned down to what I thought it smelled like...and now I can't even remember. The one blog I really always come back to, other than like blog friend's blogs, just a blog that I really enjoy reading and rarely comment on because she gets so many comments is e tells tales.

Hmmm, the toilet paper in my bathroom is currently rolled back up into a messy roll after apparently being unwound all the way...probably b/c of a convo similar to the one you overheard from your kids:) And I like blogs that teach me something, have great photos and where their life is shared. Oh, and I love personal style stuff the most, except I want to know the person behind the styled looks, too:)

I rarely drink Coke (because if I start I never stop) but I think I will always crave it! Of course now I want one:) Have a great weekend. As for your blog, I love what you do--family, cute pictures, outfits, and honesty!

love your blog! I go back to my favorite blogs because of the variety. I love style blogs, but my favorites are the ones where a little bit of everything is mixed in. Have a great weekend!

Well your blog would be that blog that makes me want to visit everyday.
1. Your boys are too darling not to keep coming back to see what shenanigans they've been up to.
2. You're a mother. And a mother of boys.
3. I love connecting with other people and finding commonalities and things I can relate to.
4. I need fashion tips and you are definitely one to go to!!
5. I get super excited when I find great blogs and find other LDS members. It makes me happy. May be a little bias but I only speak the truth!

Aww, I love this post. As always, you're genuine, transparent, and authentic. Three of the MANY qualities I love about YOU and your blog! I would be a fool if I did not share the person + blog that got me into this "adventure" from the very beginning: The Coastal Chicster. Lisa and I have never met in person, but we worked together for three years at the same company and spoke on the phone at least once a week. She is my virtual best friend and the inspiration and driving force behind me creating my own blog. Without a doubt, she is my blogging mentor and life coach and all-around great friend. I love that girl. She also has impeccable fashion tastes, which is so not me!

You can read her blog here: http://www.thecoastalchicster.com/

Blessings + Hugs,
Nicole

Charlie's quotes are so hilarious! The blogs I continually go to ( such as yours!) usually are encouraging and fun to read. I also appriciate that some of the blogs I frequent the writers comment on my blog too. That always makes me super excited!

I have learned a lot from all of these answers. As for me, like the poster above, I like visually pretty blogs but I also like happy, upbeat blogs. Not that every post has to be all rainbows and butterflies, but I like reading about bloggers who genuinely enjoy what they are doing. I have read blogs that transitioned into making money, and it seems like it stopped being authentic and started being "let me sell you something." Not that making money through blogging is bad, not at all! But when it becomes the primary motivation, I think that it turns off readers.

And here is my confession: I rarely read mommy blogs that are solely that anymore. I love my kids and I know that each mommy blogger loves their kids and that is wonderful! But I do not need to know every detail of their lives. That sounds tacky, I know it does. I just like a wide variety of posts--life, fashion, funny, poignant--just like what you are doing!

So I forgot to ask...did they go mess up the bathroom? ;)

I am drawn to blogs with witty dialog, great, easy to read posts that aren't over the top lengthy, and topics that interest me (fashion, kids, diy, recipes, healthy living, etc.). I also love good photos. I really like your blog in particular because of your topics, length of posts, pictures, and down-to-earth voice. I can relate to you very well!

Charlie is the sweetest older brother! I really enjoy your blog because of the "realness" your blog emanates. I love love love shopping, fashion, clothes, jewelry, etc but I also love words that give meaning to our lives. You're brave enough to share certain stories and aspects of your life with the world... and that says a lot.

If my children ever mess up the bathroom I would probably just leave it...because I'm lazy & I detest cleaning the bathroom :) And my favorite blogs to read are those that I find/feel a personal connection with. There are tons of great blogs with great photos & cute outfits but I hate reading them because that is all they are about, the outfits. I love blogs that have personal meaning behind them :)

I am not sure how I found this blog, but she just seems SO COOL! Hahah
She seems like the kind of woman i'd like to be more like and that's what attracts me to blogs... weird?

For me it is the blogs of those who i have connected and made a friendship with. Some will keep me going for a while, if they are funny, if they have beautiful pictures-- but without the connection those will eventually lose me along the way.
