We've already been enjoying this fun month by going to The Nutcracker this past weekend. That is one thing I am absolutely requiring my boys to do every year. I want them to be able to appreciate the art that I love so much, and to see the ballet that has always been a huge part of my life. The building that hosted The Nutcracker also hosted a Christmas craft day, which the boys really enjoyed. The boys got their fair share of dance this weekend, and came with me to a tree lighting ceremony where my dance girls performed. (The boys love it..and have excellent rhythm because of it!) :-)
Here are few other things I'm looking forward to in December.
*All the amazing
Christmas lights
-Our neighbor works every day to reach his
goal of 10,000 lights on his house.
*The Nativity
Celebration
-My church hosts a Nativity celebration
every year. In you’re local, come!! Music, nativities, and children’s activities.
*Getting the (few)
things I bought for myself this year
-It really is the way to go…
*Seeing Charlie’s face
when he finds our Elf, Buddy, every morning.
-We found Buddy in, what looked like, a
very dangerous position this morning (he looked like he was hanging from his
neck, but Noel put the string around his arms.)
Thankfully, the boys were not traumatized by this…just
me.
*Enjoying this
beautiful season with family
*Enjoying all the
Christmas activities with Charlie and Walker.
-They already know it’s a special time!
*Celebrating the birth
of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
-And so grateful that I have the gospel in
my life.

I used to dance in The Nutcracker when I was little... it's the best!
Such cute pics! And that's awesome that you bring the boys to The Nutcracker every year :)

love that you take them to the nutcracker!! I really wanted to go this year (i haven ever been!) but the tickets sold out SO fast! There is always next year :)
That's so great that you take them to the Nutcracker! Unfortunately the only one that I could take Nora to this year doesn't allow children under 4 to attend (who does that?? lol) so we can't start that tradition until next year. :(
When I think of Christmas I think of my mother Giselle (it is her favorite holiday). She would deck our home and yard with lights and moving deer and inflatables and candy cane lined walk ways. She was rather obsessed but it made/makes her happy.

Oh and your Elf situation makes me think of my eldest sister always telling her boys not to wrestle with this huge Santa pillow she has. How they expect to beat up Santa and still receive gifts neither of us understand. :-)
Kids are so fun when they start really getting into Santa - can't wait to hear more Buddy the Elf stories
Maggie is loving searching for Snoopy our elf but only a few days in and he's already look like he's been hung! I cannot wait to go look at Christmas lights and live nativities. I LOVE Christmas!
I'm so happy it's finally December. I'm thinking we are going to put up the tree tonight :) where do you see the nutcracker? I haven't been in years but I loved it!
Xo,
Angela
I used to see the Nutcracker every year as a little girl, as I was a dancer... LOVED it! Can't wait to see it again, someday.
So happy December is here! :)
I took my little girl to the nutcracker for the first time this year. Her dance studio always performs it! She loved it and even said next year she will try it.

I love that you are making your boys go to the Nutcracker. That was something my mom and I would do every year, and I wish my fiance would go with me...he does not have an appreciation for the ballet.
How fun that you went to see The Nutcracker! I can't believe it's already December and the holidays are just around the corner.

I always want to go to the Nutcracker, but it never works out. Lee has a tendency to get sick during Christmas time, so I have yet to get to do much of anything up here Christmas related. Your boys will really love that picture with all the lovely ladies when they get older. :)
Buddy is a GREAT name for an elf.
Hey Ashley! I'm a new follower, found you on #YOLO Mondays. :)
I think that's a great tradition to go to the Nutcracker every year! My girl is only 4 months old, so we're not sure yet what traditions we will be instilling.
Also, I'm so jealous about your neighbor! I would love to have someone who was trying to reach a 10K lights goal! LOL!
Love the pictures! and 10,000 lights?! WOW! Post a picture when he's done getting them all up.. that is something I have to see:)
Please post a picture of your neighbor's house when it reaches 10,000 lights!
I LOVE looking at lights! i think it might be my favorite part of this time of year! your boys are just so precious! I love watching kids look at christmas decorations!
Woah! I wonder what Buddy was up to, haha.
I work in a retail store right now, and I have seen hardly any cards or ornaments that have anything to do with Jesus. Sad.
Walkers hat just killed me, killed me, killed me.
Oh, tis the season. We sang Silent Night as our closing hymn yesterday, and I do believe it was the first time I felt the Christmas Spirit thus far. Clearly I'm delayed.
absolutely love this time of the year!! the decorations, the reason we celebrate all month long!!
I think that is a great idea! I wish we had some local shows of the nutcracker in my area because Ballet West is so expensive to go too. And what sucks about living around college students us NO ONE decorates:(

I love that you have the boys to the Nutcracker ever year! What a great family tradition!
I also enjoyed your list. I am giggling about being excited over getting things for yourself, because I couldn't agree more. My husband just said "Oh, I need to get you something for Christmas." I told him don't worry about it, you already did. I have a candle and sweater you bought for me in your closet. Just wrap them up lol.
Hi, Ashley! It was so nice to meet you this weekend at the TriFABB event. It was nice to meet another mom blogger.
Your boys are so adorable! I think it's great that you take them to the Nutcracker. :)
Wow! That is a lot of lights! I wouldn't want that electric bill! haha How pretty though! That elf seems to be popular among mother bloggers. I'll have to try it one day!
Ashley! hello! your blog is nice and i loved your post, too. i found you at YOLO #40. come on over. k?
i am going to join you right now!!!
my post is sad, just to warn you.
I haven't been to the nutcracker in years. My mom used to take me and my sister every single year. It was such fun tradition.

I think it's so cool that you take your boys to the Nutcracker! We just got our Elf this weekend! Buddy is such a cute name!
I LOVE the Nutcracker! Oh I wish I could go every year! Being a dancer, did you perform it before? I was a dancer for 10 years and we would perform it for local schools as well as a paying audience. It was an awesome time! So cool that you encourage your kids to enjoy it. I think at this point my boys would look at me with blank faces and complain that they'd rather go play xbox!
Your boys are so cute! Love the nutcracker too. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Loving yours. xoxo
My niece performs in the Nutcracker every year and we usually make it to go see her.
