The Redneck in Me...

Everything about these 2 pictures is just wrong.  I'm wearing a tie-dyed shirt in public, I am at the fair, and I'm watching (with my sons) a bunch of crazy kids ramming their cars into each other...something they like to call a "demolition derby".  When my dad mentioned to Charlie that there were animals at the fair, there was no turning back.  We had to go.  Before leaving, Charlie got his chocolate pudding covered face on my white shirt, so this tie-dyed one was the first shirt I pulled out of my sister's double 0 size clothes...it fit, so I went with it.  Do you see the boys' faces?  They loved it.  I was wondering if they were really my sons, when my dad explained to me that "They're boys!!"...so of course they love a bunch of cars in a bunch of mud.  I'm glad we went, though, (did I really just say that?!) because it's so awesome seeing the boys have so much fun.

Have you ever been to one of these things?

Haha...making memories! I've never been but I've heard them when I've been at the fair-very loud. Lee wants us to go to a NASCAR race at some point and I feel this way about that. :)

I love the looks on their faces--so cute! And demolition derbies . . . I never went to one, but my brother did. Your dad is right--it's a boy thing. :)

Ahh, you're such a good mom, making the sacrifice. :) It takes all the strength I can muster, to get out in the crowds and I'm usually not very fun. :P

I haven't been to one of these but there are several hosted in the area. They are really boys, aren't they? I never understood that early early attraction to cars and all things with wheels

I love demo derby's! And rodeo's! And fairs! We'd go out in utah and get dressed up and eat horrible clog your arteries food and have a great time.

Haha this reminded me a little of the movie One Fine Day when Michelle Pfeiffer's son spills juice on her business suit so she has to wear her son's dinosaur shirt to her business meeting.

Glad y'all had such a good time! :-)

Your boys seem to love watching cars ram into each other. As for the tie dyed shirt, it has colors that matches your earrings so it was meant to be worn by you.

Love "(did I really just say that)"......I have only been to one demolition derby.....when I was really young. I don't remeber it much (maybe 'cause I was a young girl)....but I'm sure your boys will remember this one and be happy you were there to share it with them! :)

Awww, his face says it all. He is so enjoying himself. Like "ooohhhhh!" lol.

We have never been to one, but I do think this really is something my girls would enjoy seeing (just once though lol).

When I was at State, I manned the NCSU ice cream stand during the fair. It's right on the edge of the place where they do the demolition derbys. I got to watch a few for free that way. I know you hate the fair, but I *LOVE* the North Carolina State Fair! It's so fun to people watch, eat ridiculous foods and see giant vegetables. Maybe you could give the fair a second chance. Do it for the boys. :)

The tie-dye, I'm sure, is perfectly acceptable ESPECIALLY at a county far ;)

This is too funny. I once went to a Nascar race and left with debris and dirt all over me. It was SO much fun though!
