Question of the Month

I do love a schedule.  When I wake up a little early to take care of things before the boys wake up, everything seems to go smoother because I'm not in such a rush.  When I turn all electronics off 30 minutes before bed and wind down by reading, I sleep better.

I'm starting a monthly segment where I have YOU answer a specific question for me.  I loved the feedback this month on what you do to make your days run smoother, and here are many of your answers.

Katie Vale
Heather Skinner Perry
Mary Beth Hunnicutt
Kayla Peveler
Sarah Jane Miller
Melissa Werner
Anna Walker
Megan Hall
Katie Skelley
Jenny Spry Durham

Aren't those great tips?  Do you have any to add?
Be on the look out for next month's question...and have a great weekend!!

I like the idea about a post it note on the mirror with things to do that day. I love lists and I love post it notes. I may have to try that!

I love the hugging your husband one and making your bed!

I pick out my clothes at night too. Although sometimes I still wind up changing, ha.

These were all so good! I also lay out clothes the night before, otherwise Coop will come downstairs wearing a pj top and swim shorts for school!

Working out every morning has done wonders for me, too. Also, I love the make the bed tip...I used to do that, but have been slacking lately. I'll have to get back to it!

I love Sarah Jane's suggestion about the hugs! That one is so true! I always have a better day when it starts with a big hug and kiss! :o)

I like having my days run smoothly, but I don't like being scheduled necessarily. Instead I make lists and try to knock everything off when I can. If I don't get to all of it, I don't stress - I just try to find where I can fit it in in the next few days. If I didn't write it down though, I'd forget it! :o)

What a cute idea! I love seeing what others had to say. I need to follow some of these because before leaving for work it's like a tornado spinning through the house :D

Great tips. A to do list is a must for my day to go smooth. I tend to forget things so having a list helps me a lot.

These are great tips I think I need to start getting up early to get more done!

Love this new segment and all were great advice!! I need to add a view to my routine...but the only way my day will run smoother is if I grab a Diet Dr. Pepper first thing! ;) Happy weekend.

These women are smart! I need to start doing this.

I set my alarm for 15 minutes earlier than I need to wake up- so I feel like I'm sleeping in a little bit.

I'm nuts but it works.

Love your blog.

They are definitely great tips! I weekly menu plan which just means that I don't have to stress over the age old questions: what's for dinner!? or "what's for lunch!"?

I love this series! So fun and helpful :) I think no matter what, it's definitely helpful to have a little "me" time - whether it's exercising, reading, or just reading some blogs.. it's important to have some alone time to regroup!

I'm going to love this series, such a great idea! And thanks for using my tip! I love hearing what everyone else says too! Great job!

Great ideas! Thanks for including my suggestion! I also do the laying of the clothes and making the lunch the night before. Basically, anything I can prepare in advance I do. It helps things run smoother.

I LOVED this post! I also need to start shutting off electronics before bed but I feel like that's when my blogging time fits in. Any suggestions? When do you fit yours in?

this is a great idea! i love everyone's tips! i am going to DL that bible verse app right now. that seems like the perfect way to start the day!

I really need to get back in the habit of laying out my clothes the night before. It would keep me from having those "OMG, I have nothing to wear!!" moments 15 minutes before I need to leave for work.

Those are great tips! I definitely do not do enough things the night before.

I needed this, sometimes life gets so overwhelming that you just need to stop and start over with some of these. Great idea!

I have made a quick, simple, and realistic schedule in the morning (when I am in classes I do this daily) that I learned from "How to Become a Straight-A Student" by Cal Newport. I really wish I had read this book as a freshman but it gets me motivated and tunnel vision focused. I read it about twice a year. Now that I have taken this fall semester off from Grad School I know I need academia for multiple reasons.
