October Favorite Things

Here are a few of my favorite things from October!

I had a really, really sad day/week earlier this month.  That morning, my friend Jennie called me just to talk...before I even knew the day was going to be sad.  She has this sixth sense when it comes to me, and always calls when I need someone.  She's also the type of friend that never asks "Let me know if you need anything".  She just does it.  She doesn't just "think" about me...she shows me that she's thinking about me.  I'm trying to be more like her.  She sent me these flowers the next day and they could not be more beautiful.  The world needs more "Jennies".  

In need of a spirit lifter, Noel and I went to see Pitch Perfect.  Oh. my. goodness.  First off, I have never laughed so hard.  Second off, I have never heard an audience laugh so hard.  Funniest movie of my life.

Celebrating Walker's birthday.  Charlie and Walker are the absolute best part of my life.  Celebrating their birthdays always brings back the sweetest memories of meeting them for the first time.  I do love this sweet little baby.

Thank goodness for Moroccan Oil.  My hair is a crazy mess, and this stuff savesssss me.  I bought the generic version from Sally's and my big crazy mess turned into a big greasy mess.  The real stuff is worth the few extra dollars.

(Yes, the manicurists always get on me about my super short nails.)  When I paint my own nails, it looks like a toddler painted them blindfolded.  When I get a manicure, I chip them on the way out the door.  Shellac nails are the way to go.  They actually last for a week and a half (miracle!) and I love this funky color I got!

Raleigh Fashion Show

Venue pictures found here because my own were super lame.

Raleigh had their first fashion week, and Noel and I attended their final fashion show this past weekend.  The venue was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful ceilings and lighting.  The best part, though, was seeing friend and fellow blogger, Angela, and Robb my amazing dance teacher growing up.

US Weekly in the Walmart check out lane told me that Emily cheated on Jef. Shay's feelings on this situation are so hilarious.  I thought we were friends until she told the world whose side she was taking.

This is so me.

One Year

One year ago today, Walker James Anderson came into the world, and our lives have been so blessed because of him.  In some ways it feels like he just entered our world, but in other ways it feels like I have known him forever.  (I know I have!)  He has always been the most wonderful, laid back, easy going baby, and still is(!)..with the exception of a new found squeal he learned when someone takes something away from him.  Walker is a mama's boy all the way and I can't seem to get enough of him...I do love kissing those sweet cheeks all day.  Happy Birthday, my sweet, sweet Walker boy!  I love you so much.

Finders Keepers

When I saw my sister, Jessica wearing these purple skinnies the other day, I knew I had to have a pair.  So, like any good sister, I waited until she got in the shower and snatched them from her bag.  (I'll give them back.....one day) She then had to leave in a hurry, and what put the cherry on top was that she left her brown boots by the door.  Yessss!!!  Lucky day for Ashley!  When my sister, Sarah started taking these pictures for me, she said, "That's my cardigan."  I denied it (duh), but she went on to tell me that she knew I had stolen it from her because she stole it from Jessica.  I guess that's one of the great things about having sisters...you get to raid each other's closets!

The Fair......

Ohhhh....the State Fair.  I said I would never, ever take my children there.  But somehow....here I am....at the fair.  I mainly went to make sure my dad didn't hype Charlie and Walker up on too much sugar, but it seems that they ended up with the good sugary stuff anyways. (I found out that the boys LOVE cotton candy.)  The horse ride was definitely the highlight of the day.  How cute are these little cowboys??  And how about this chicken??  At least I think it's a chicken (I kept calling animals by the wrong name, much to the amusement of my dad and the animal guys).  But I've decided that if I was a chicken, I'd be this one.

Question of the Month

I do love a schedule.  When I wake up a little early to take care of things before the boys wake up, everything seems to go smoother because I'm not in such a rush.  When I turn all electronics off 30 minutes before bed and wind down by reading, I sleep better.
