I'm rebelling against the "no white after Labor Day" rule. (Even though I'm not sure how rebellious I can really look in pearls.) The "no white shoes" is actually a year round rule in my book, because honestly, cute white shoes just don't exist. Ask any high school marshall. Have you ever been one? Yeah, neither have I...but my sister has been, and I'm telling you...there are no cute white shoes to be found. I love pairing white pants with a tee for a casual look and then dressing them up with an oxford and pearls. And my all time favorite season to wear white pants is Christmas!
So what about you? Do you put away the white pants come September? Or do you rock them all year?
(I'm making an exception to my shoe rule. These are pretty great...but I'd like to see another cute pair....)

I don't own any white pants, but I love the pair you have on the left...they look comfy (comfy is my favorite).
I have a pair of white linen pants that I will definitely be wearing after Labor Day! I am typically not a season fashion rule follower...speaking of rebelling! LOL!

Amen and amen on everything you said about white! If I couldn't wear white after Labor Day, I'd have to go naked, because I just love it so much and would be out of clothes. And white shoes? They're gross. Your white trousers are charming and so versatile! Way to mix it up!

Its so funny you blogged about this because I came so close to buying white pants this weekend but decided against it because I couldn't decide if I agreed with this rule or not. I'm still undecided. My bigger worry though is that I'm pretty sure my 3 kids would destroy them before I left the house.

I love them and think you should keep wearing them as long as it is warm. I may just wear my today now!
I only own white shorts... oh and a long white skirt. But I wear the skirt after Labor Day all the time because it's so comfortable. I say wear whatever you want as long as you feel great (and you look great in both outfits too!)
I have always heard that white was allowed after labor day but I have never had the nerve...til now. It looks great!!!!
And rebelling with pearls just means you are rebelling in style!
I still can't rock the white pants because I am soooooo messy! ;) But totally agree with the white shoes thing...I don't think cute ones exist! Hope you are having a great week!!

I don't think that rule is fair for the south where it stays so hot through mid-October but I don't wear white usually after my sweaters are broken out. I do have a skirt that is "winter white" that Ill wear at Christmas time. I'm not a rebellious as you :) I will say I had roommates in Utah that wore a white tiered peasant skirt with furry boats in the snow. I almost fainted.

I was a marshall in high school! I think the issue with white shoes is that they don't stay white, and they get scuff marks bad... but I think I've seen them pulled off. I like them because white goes with everything and black can make an outfit seem heavy in the winter (of course that's why we wear tan/beige/whatever), anyhow...

Love this Ashley! I wore a white shirt yesterday to work, and one of the men asked me, "Aren't you not allowed to wear white shirts after labor day?!" :) Then I told him the phrase is "white pants." I chuckled a little. I can't imagine not wearing a white shirt for half the year!.....Besides I think you know how to do it. Just don't follow the rules...wear white whenever you feel like it. It's not like we are going to jail if we do! ;) Have a great day!

White after Labor Day is totally allowed according to What Not To Wear. As long as the outfit doesn't scream SUMMER in the dead of Winter. --Also, you're adorable :)
