The sun and the sand

{Charlie and cousin Ande)

{Walker and cousin Owen}

I'm going to be really honest.  I'm not a huge fan of the sand.  Before kids, I would enjoy sitting out on the beach to read a book, but I've never been interested in getting super sandy or swimming in the ocean.  No thank you.  With kids, at the beach, there is sand everrryyywhere....and this crazy sand appears in random places for weeks after we get home.  This past beach trip, however, I knew I only had one day on the actual beach.  Charlie was having so much fun that I decided to give the whole "dig a hole" thing a try, and it was actually pretty fun.  I guess if I'm going to have to clean it off the boys and scoop it out of their mouths (Walker's favorite beach snack), I might as well fully embrace it myself.

I'm not a fan of the sand either or the ocean! It's all sticky and yucky. I'm just not a fan. But I have to do it when we go to the beach (at least to some extent) - because of the kids. Oh well. It's just something you have to troop through I suppose.

I feel your pain...I never knew sand could get in so many places until we took Thomas to the beach. At least it makes them happy :)

I've heard that baby powder helps to remove sand from legs and feet after you are at the beach. I'm not a huge fan of sand either, especially because once you go to the beach - you track it everywhere lol.

The sand is the worst! But I'm impressed you got all down and dirty with the boys! These pictures are adorable!

My dad used to say that sand is omnipresent. Haha. But I bet that watching your own kids have fun in it changes the opinion maybe a little bit. :)

How cute are those babes? They look like they're having a blast... worth dealing with some sand to see those smiles. Have a great weekend!

I love the sand and the ocean - I wish we lived near a beach!

I bet your kids will always look back and have great memories of their days at the beach with you!

Ugh...I hate the sand too. I saw on Pinterest where baby powder removes sand. I haven't tried it yet, but if it works that would be great.

Oh Ashley...I'm glad you came around, I'm not sure if we could have moved forward in our friendship if you didn't like sand and the ocean. I'm so glad you've decided to embrace it - there's hope for us! ;) xoxox

Yes-- if all of the sand could somehow stay at the beach I would love it so much more.
