Creating Geniuses

So read we will.  Park Scholars don't just make themselves!

These boys do love to read, and I love reading to them.  (I think it's awesome when I "catch" them reading.)

Happy Friday everyone.  Have a fantastic weekend!

We're pretty big on Dr. Seuss in this house...I love reading to my Bree too. We read some books so many times, she memorizes them!

Have a fabulous weekend :)

We LOVE reading too! I started reading when I was pregnant. I wanted to simulate the brain early ;-) Haha!
Morehead-Cain Scholars don't just make themselves either ;-)
We love chapter books (Tuck Everlasting, Sarah Plain and Tall, Skylark, Bridge to Terabithia, etc) for bath time and bed time. It makes both of the girls calm down. I think they just like hearing my voice.

OK, kinda of deep here, I go back and forth with the princess fairy tales....I mean both of my girls love all the princesses, but sometimes I wonder if it will make them expect more and not realize that life is NOT a freaking fairytale!! Thoughts? I know, I am probably looking way to much into this.

I started reading to my boys when they were about 8 months old. My oldest still loves his stories and the baby is starting to love them now that we have started.

Reading has been and still is my favorite thing to do with my kids. When Lucas was little it was just about the only time he would sit still and we would read for a long time

I love that quote by Einstein. It is so true. I actually checked out a book from the library recently with the Grimm Fairy Tales. It was interesting to see how they compared to the stories we were told as children.
