Many days around 4pm, I am in desperate need of a quick cat nap.
But, trying to avoid a crazy situation like Charlie tying Walker up on his lawn mower and taking him for a spin around the block, I reach for an alternative.
Something that gives me a quick energy boost so I can be a good mama to these little guys.

I was reading March 2012's edition of Real Simple, and realized that I'm not alone.
6 A.M. to 9 A.M.
The time when we feel the most upbeat—or so say our tweets. A study in the journal Scienceanalyzed the Twitter feeds of 2.4 million people in 84 countries. The findings: Users are in good spirits in the morning. That’s when the words agree, awesome, and super (or their foreign equivalents) are tweeted most often. Things go downhill as the day progresses, bottoming out between 3 P.M and 4 P.M., when annoy and afraid saturate cyberspace. What a tangled (worldwide) web we weave!
So even tweeters are feeling the 4pm slump.
I've thought up 5 ways to get a quick boost of energy.
1. Eat a piece of chocolate!

Of course this is #1 on my list. (Dove chocolate really is the best.) A piece of chocolate always seems to make everything better. Or you can bite off the head of a Dove chocolate bunny like I just did.
2. Get outside

Walk around the block, go to the park, blow bubbles, whatever!...just get outside for a minute. Fresh air is the way to go.
3. Watch a funny video
A short, hilarious YouTube clip goes a long way. Have you seen this Ellen scare montage?
Hilarious.
4. Host a Dance Party
Dance party in the living room? Yes! Dance party at the office? Even better.
Not only does this get my blood pumping, but watching Charlie dance is probably the best form of entertainment of all time.
5. Talk it up
Call your sister, brother, mama, or daddy. A short phone call always boosts my energy.
Any more suggestions on how to get a quick burst of energy?

Oh my gosh, that video is HILARIOUS! I think the best part is when Taylor Swift falls down. Thanks for sharing!
Great tips! That video is sooo funny. I think the funniest part is that she scares people the exact same way most of the time, and they still get scared! Of course, I would see it coming and still freak out ; ) Have you seen the one with Kristin Bell and the sloth? Sooo hilarious! All these tips are awesome ones to perk up your day : )
Chocolate would be my first also but I have too hard a time saying no to just one.
That video is going to be my new trick. That's AWESOME!!! Thanks for sharing!
I like to host a dance party in the kitchen. Usually I'm the only one that attends, but it's great anyway.
These photos are great! I'm new here... browsing around and decided to comment instead of lurk. :) I LOVE the look and feel of your blog so far- off to check out some more! Happy week, sugar! xo

Thanks for that video! Totally made me laugh, tears running down my face now.
And how interesting about the positive vs negative words on social media at different times
We always go for a walk around that time. Good for mama, baby and doggy! Ha. But it is so true, that time is killer. It's like you've made it through a large portion of the day, but you're not quite close enough to their bedtime yet.
Wait- real ducks in the box?????
Good suggestions - I get the 4pm slump as well, although mine usually hits around 3. I usually have a cup of chai tea, or get up from my desk and walk around.
Enjoy your weekend :)
seriously thanks for that video.
it was amazing!
