4 months of sweetness

My little Walker man turned 4 months last Saturday!

He is the cutest, sweetest, calmest, BEST baby of all time.

I usually dress my boys in a dressier outfit for their monthly photos.......

but, thought this ECU shirt (Go, Pirates!) flatters his figure so well!!

Walker's 4 month stats:

Weight: 18 pounds 2 ounces (!) 94 %
Length: 25 1/2 inches 68%
Head: 16 3/4 inches 55%

The doctor said that if he were 18, he would be 6' 1'', 240 pounds. Most definitely a football player.

At 4 months he:

Giggles so hard
Loves to be tickled
Loves getting kisses
Holds toys in his hands
Puts everything in his mouth
Enjoys helping mommy with laundry while sitting in the Bumbo
Still loves watching Charlie
and American Idol
Goes to bed around 7pm, wakes up at 5am to eat, and is up for the morning around 730am
Wakes up between 7pm and 5am wanting his paci (need to work on cutting that habit)
Watches his mommy like she is IT!!! His #1 lady.

Walker has been exclusively breast fed up until last week. Now, he gets one bottle of formula a day, which he does NOT enjoy. He's getting better at taking it, but after leaving him with my friend Sara, and hearing him refuse the formula til he turned a completely new shade of red when she tried to feed him, I thought it was time for him to get used to it.

I love you so much, my Walker boy. You are a sweet blessing in all our lives.

(I love baby smiles before they get teeth!!)

Our Favorite Things

Noel and I put together a list of our favorite things for February.

Mine

1. My "Walker" ring

Noel thought he was being super sneaky when he bought me this ring, until the Etsy seller sent me a message about it. Whoops! Either way, I have been wanting a Walker ring to go with my Charlie ring. I love wearing these every day.

2. Charlie's V-Day School Treats

I found these super sweet treat bag toppers from this website and thought they turned out really cute.

3. Everything Goes: On Land

You know everything I'm about to say by just looking at the cover of this book. If there ever was a perfect book for a little boy, THIS is it. Every page is filled with cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles. It's almost a Where's Waldo? style book, but with things that MOVE!!

4. Bath & Body Works' Bali Mango Lotion

I am an Original Scent Jergens Lotion type girl. Charlie, Walker, and I all have very sensitive skin, so I have to be careful with lotions and perfumes. So when my brother gave me this lotion for my birthday, I was skeptical. I'm glad I tried it though, because it's pretty much amazing. It's light enough for my crazy sensitive skin, but has the most delicious smell.

5. Laughing Cow Cheese

Yes, I put cheese on my list. If you haven't tried this, you need to. Charlie and I look forward to our afternoon snack for this very reason.

NOEL'S LIST

1. Nike Lunar Eclipse 2+

For Christmas, Ashley's parents got me a Foot Locker gift card which is awesome because I have a serious addiction to Nike shoes. I used the gift card to get these. I've always been a big Air Max guy but the past two pairs of Nikes I've gotten have had the Lunar cushioning. It is so comfortable and so lightweight. Highly recommended for your next running shoe or if you're like me and you like rocking high-performance running shoes as your everyday kicks.

2. 2013 Acura NSX

If you watched the Super Bowl, you probably saw the commercial for the new Acura NSX. The original was one of my favorite cars as a kid and was always my pick when I played Need For Speed - Hot Pursuit on the Play Station 2. The new 2013 redesign does not disappoint.

3. Cris Cab-Echo Boom

I've been listening to this free mixtape a lot lately. Cris Cab is a 19-year old Miami kid with an awesome reggae-pop sound. There are tracks on this album with Wyclef, Pharrell Williams, and Shaggy. A good listen.

4. Kevin Durant

Over the past two years, Kevin Durant has cemented his spot as my favorite athlete. He is one of the best players in the NBA and recently won the 2012 NBA All-Star Game MVP. He is not only an incredible player and scorer (see the highlights from his 51-point outburst vs. the Nuggets from earlier this month below), but he's an awesome teammate too. After a huge game, he was asked about how he thought his play impacted the team, and he immediately said, well I think (my teammate) James Harden was the key to our victory tonight. He has also worked into his contract with Nike that his signature shoes should be sold for less than $100 so that kids that grow up in his old neighborhood in Prince George's County, MD can afford them. Stand up dude and straight baller!

5. Grantland

My current favorite website is Grantland. It is a Sports and Pop Culture website started by my favorite sports writer, ESPN's The Sports Guy Bill Simmons. Grantland has great articles written by incredible young writers on every sport you can imagine as well as movies, music, and television. There are also great podcasts on the Grantland Podcast Network including Bill Simmons' BS Report and the Jalen Rose Podcast. Lots of good stuff there to read.

Enjoy your EXTRA day this year. Will you be doing anything special?

Oscar Fashion Recap

I was planning on putting my thoughts in some type of order, but since I'm a "stream of consciousness" type person, these are some of my Oscar thoughts in random order.

Louise Roe
Refreshingly different. Again with the long sleeves. Perfect for her role at the Oscars.

Tim Gunn
What would I give to spend ONE day with him? Have him take me around and tell me EXACTLY what I need to be wearing, and then have him tell me how fabulous I am.

Octavia Spencer
HUGEEE upgrade from the Emmys. Color and fit were absolutely perfect for her body.

Maya Rudolph.
Love the sleeves on her dress. Don’t love the way she looked in it, but the dress is great.

Rooney Mara
The fact that designers are loving her make me dislike her look even more. I thought she looked super scary.

Jessica Chastain
I think you are fantastic. Why did you wear this? You look like a carpet or a fancy curtain. The shape is gorgeous and so are you, but this dress, I can’t even look. In fact, I’m looking away, right now.

Milla Jovovich
Love a one shoulder dress. Just enough bedazzle.

Emma Stone
LOVE this. Love that she is a red head wearing red. Love the over the top bow with a simple, cute dress shape. So absolutely beautiful and perfect for her.

Viola Davis
Did not work. The color looked cheap and the top of the dress was too small/tight. Her husband on the other hand looked SHARRPP.!

Michelle Williams .
I seriously hate her with short, blonde hair but her dress was super stunning. Could’ve lived without the sparkle bow, but everything else was just. right.

*****Loved the “mominees”: Love my boys more every single day…can’t imagine the love I’ll feel in 30 years or so.****

*****Neutral color was pretty popular. Why?****

Kristen Wiig

Loved it, but wish she wore a necklace.

Colin Firth's wife
I seriously need that dress without the bosom ruffles.

Midnight in Paris .
Really? As my brother says, “I would rather live in a hole for a year” than watch that movie again.

Jennifer Lopez
STOPPP that. You are so gorgeous and I’m obsessed with your shiny, smooth skin, but your dress takes you back to your “married to my backup dancer” days.

Gywneth Paltrow
That cape you busted up in was scary. But when you presented an award your dress was crazy beautiful.

Penelope Cruz
Your hair. I couldn’t even focus on your dress, because your hair was such a disaster mess.

Stacey Kiebler .
That color is so wrong. I hate a beautiful dress gone bad because of color.

Brad Pitt
Cut Yo Hair!!

Beautiful Bradley Cooper
Shave your mustache!!

Sandra Bullock
Took a piece of that fancy curtain and got some collagen in her lips. Yikes.

What were some of your thoughts about the Red Carpet??

New Stage

Guess which little cutie has been enjoying his exersaucer lately?!

(Yes, those cheeks are just as delicious as they look)

And which one has started liking it....again?!.....

(This is the "Mom, please distract him with a truck" look.)

Charlie is just remembering the good old days of loving the exersaucer himself.

(Can you believe this little baby will be 2 in a few weeks?!?)

Get Organized! Part 2

Did you organize your junk drawers last week?

This is Week 2 of the Get Organized Challenge

This week's challenge: THE CLOSET

My closet is already pretty organized.

But, after taking a picture of the space, it looks like I need to tidy things up a bit.

I have my hanging clothes organized by

Short-sleeve shirts
Long-sleeve shirts
Cardigans
Sweaters
Coats
Skirts
and Dresses

Up on top I have clothes organized by

Gym Pants/Gym Shorts
Sweatshirts
Shorts
Pants
Jeans
and TShirts

I purged a lot of my clothes last year for a yard sale, and plan on doing the same thing again this year.

BUT, I feel like I keep hanging on to the same clothes that I actually never wear.

I saw a GREAT idea (can't remember where) and decided to do it as well.......

I turned all of my hangers the opposite way (took me about 5 minutes and was surprisingly a crazy bicep workout). Once I have worn an item, I will turn it the "right way". Next year at this time, once I've gone through all the seasons, I will get rid of all the clothing I haven't turned.

Great, right?!

Have fun getting your closets organized this week!~

Remember that time when

I dyed my hair a super, dark brown, and loved it while my family hated it?

(Me, 2nd from right)

This is the ONLY picture I have of my days (junior year of college) as a brunette.

This picture also reminds me of the days of being tan and having a hard-core daily gym workout + 3 hours daily dance class body.

This picture brings back such great memories. I have a great love for everyone in this picture. As a church group, we finished a major project together, and got to meet Janice Kapp Perry (and husband) who writes the most beautiful music.

Maybe I should go back to dark hair for a minute? Don't know how the babies would feel about all that.

Go-To Songs

I am one of those super annoying people that always turns a song on the radio/ipod/cd before it's over. I just can not listen to an entire song.

There are 5 exceptions to this craziness. I can listen to these songs all day, every day. And they are so random.

1. The Freshmen by The Verve Pipe:

I have no clue why I love this song so much. I've loved it for as long as I can remember. Maybe because it's one of the first "cool" songs that I memorized all the words to.

2. Someone Like You by Adele:

Noel claims that he started the trend of ankle socks. Sure. I am positive that I started the trend of loving this song. It is the most perfect song, and I have been caught pretending to be Adele on multiple occasions by stoplight neighbors.

3. What's Up by 4 Non Blondes

The chorus of this song is, basically, awesome. I'm allowed one song that fits in the "angry girl music" category. Ok, I have a lot of angry girl music; Melissa Etheridge, Alanis Morissette....

4. Cry Me A River by Justin Timberlake

Thank you Britney Spears for breaking up with JT so we (the world) can enjoy this song. I know it's old school, but it's fantastic. And perfect for a plie combination in jazz.

5. River Deep, Mountain High by Celine Dion

Oh, Celine. How I love you! I always thought that the crying girls at Beatles' concerts were insane, ridiculous, out of their mind. And then I went to a Celine concert and became one of those crazy girls. Especially during this song. I love it. Somehow when this song comes on, I forget all my formal dance training and end up looking like a reject from So You Think You Can Dance.

What are your go-to songs?

Here is a bit of cuteness for your Tuesday afternoon.
