Come Fly Away Part 2~

I really wanted to see Come Fly Away, so Amanda and I went this past Tuesday.

The dancers and the dancing were beautiful. I love seeing long, muscular dancers onstage and all of them were (with the exception of one).

Twyla Tharp's choreography was creative and classic. I love her style. If you try Tharp choreography without ballet technique, you are DONE.

Even though I love Twyla Tharp's choreography, she always has to throw something weird in there. A song too long of scandalous dancing. That's what you were talking about right, Courtney??!

Anyways, I'm glad I saw it because I really enjoyed the dancing. BUT, if you are not a HUGE dance fan, don't go! There really isn't a storyline and there's no intermission for a bathroom break!~

Live Your Best Life~

"No great thing is created suddenly. There must be time. Give your best and always be kind."

This can apply to anyone in any situation.

Beautiful quote from Oprah's February 2011 Magazine!~

2 under 2~

It just hit me that in a month I will have 2 children under the age of 2.

I've had some great advice from different people about what worked for them during this stage.

I even looked online to see what advice people are giving about raising 2 children under 2.

One lady gave the pros and cons of this situation. She said:
Pros: They will be best friends
Cons: You will go insane

Yikes! That's comforting.

I'm really excited about how close in age my boys will be and how they will grow and play together.

And I know that just as it was with 1 child, I'll learn how to take care of 2 children.

But, are there any tricks that you wish you had known before having that 2nd child under 2?

Bath time routine suggestions? Feeding little baby suggestions? Favorite stroller recommendations? Etc.....

ONE month (ish) until Walker comes!!!~

Swagger Wagon~

Guess what I got this weekend??

Oh yeah!

A minivan.

I can't believe I've reached this stage already.

In high school, I HATED my mom's van, and thought it was the lamest thing ever. So, for punishment, I would have to drive the loser cruiser to school.

Oh, how times have changed. I am practically giddy about my new ride.

Automatic doors, dvd players, TONS of space...I am in love!

Also, this weekend I was able to hear the most beautiful talk by President Uchtdorf:

And our brand new church building was dedicated last night. It takes us less than 10 minutes to get to church now, and we are so excited and feel so blessed!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!~

The Sing-Off~

Have you been watching "The Sing-Off"?

If not, you definitely should be!

The show comes on Monday nights at 8pm on NBC.

It's a real-life Glee!

I love this show for so many reasons, and THIS article echoes my thoughts exactly.

Here's one of my favorite groups from this season. (Season just started this past week)

There's also an all-guy group from BYU. They're fantastic as well!

Watch it next week!!~

Toddle Time~

I had a check up today and baby Walker is doing just great.

The doctor said he thinks baby is coming early and that he'll weigh less than Charlie.

This is the same doctor that said Charlie was going to be a girl, and that he would weigh no more than 7 pounds.

Charlie is definitely a boy and weighed 8 1/2 pounds.

So, we'll see. :-)

Some sweet pictures and videos from this week.

Charlie loves the library.

Instead of reading a picture book, Charlie chose a novel.

Charlie and I have been going to Toddle Time. It is so much fun. Most of the time is structured, but I was able to snap a few pics/videos during "free play".

Charlie loves playing with/kicking the ball.

When Charlie has the ball up in the air, you better watch out!!!!

I love watching him play in the tunnel.

I Don't Know How She Does It~

As I said earlier, I saw I Don't Know How She Does It this past weekend.

It was kind of a mess.

I was obligated to see it because SJP was in it, but that's pretty much all I liked about it.

Even SHE was making me nervous. Not one scene went by without her running frantically around in her Pradas with her hair looking a disaster.

The movie was also SO extreme in every way.

It portrayed stay at home moms as ladies who basically don't do a thing, and when they finally get up off the couch, they drive to the gym for a few hours.

And it portrayed working moms as ladies who could never get it together, half way doing everything, and who never paid attention their kids.

I'm sure there are some people who fit both stereotypes, but the moms I know in both categories actually have it together.

The SAHMs I know pay attention to their kids, take them to do fun things, and are good teachers.

The working moms I know are very organized and are good at their "away from home" jobs AND are good moms.

I'm glad I saw it, but I Don't Know How She Does It is definitely a movie I would not recommend!~

This was the weekend where the cutest little boy

met the cutest little dog.

Charlie met Zach and Kara's bulldog, Tucker this weekend.

He is the cutest dog ever and Charlie could not get enough of him!!!!

We also found a TRAIN!!! Choo Choo!

Charlie and cousin Ande had a blast on their ride.

And, FINALLY....Halloween Oreos are out!!!

YES, Halloween Oreos are better than all other Oreos. And since Walker requested a box...I got one at the grocery store today.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!~

Crew Cuts~

I ABOUT lost my breath when I saw this picture earlier.
This is Sarah Jessica Parker with her family.

Do you see her son, James Wilkie's shirt?

Charlie has the same shirt from JCrew's Crew Cuts, compliments of Nana last year.

Why is this a big deal?

Because I LOVE SJP and this basically means that we are destined to be best friends. :-)

I actually saw James Wilkie in person several years ago, when I may or may not have been stalking Matthew Broderick in the Greenwich Village Ralph Lauren. (And no, he did not lead me to SJP as I was hoping he would.)

But, I'll get my SJP fix tonight when I see I Don't Know How She Does It.

Can't wait! (And neither can Noel) :)

Come Fly Away~

Come Fly Away is coming to the DPAC later this month!

Come Fly Away is a dance musical to the songs of Frank Sinatra and choreographed by Twyla Tharp!!!!

To say I love Twyla Tharp is a complete understatement. She's a genius choreographer and has only the best, most technical dancers in her shows.

Tharp choreographed the show, Movin' Out (a musical to the songs of Billy Joel) a few years ago. It was insanely incredible!

If Come Fly Away is anything like this one, everyone HAS to see it!

Here's Movin' Out at the 2002 Tony Awards.

Fun, right?

Here's a video preview of what Come Fly Away is all about.

Magic Moments~

I'm linking up with Shell at Things I Can't Say for her "Magic Moments" week.

A "Magic Moment" is something you are so happy to have captured on camera.

Here are some of my magic moments.

Wedding Day: June 1, 2007
We were married in the Raleigh, NC LDS Temple.
It makes me bitter to think about our pictures and photographer from this day, but I LOVE this picture.
Noel's friend held his camera up above the crowd and snapped this perfect moment.

Christmas Disney World trip 2008.
My brother had just returned home from his mission, my sister Jessica had just turned 16, and Noel had just graduated from State.
We had a blast celebrating Christmas in Disney!

We were both devastated from losing a baby that year.
This trip was the perfect get away. The weather was perfect...everything was just what we needed to lift our spirits.

March 2010
Maybe the most magical moment of them all?
The birth of sweet baby Charlie.
This picture by Cat means so much to me.

Could there be a better father/son moment?
Look at the love in both of their eyes.

Christmas 2010
Just LOOK at Charlie's face!!!
He LOVED Santa and wanted to show him that he had been a very good boy that year.

April 2011
Charlie announcing to the world that he is going to be a big brother!!

I'm excited to have more magic moments when Walker arrives next month!

Share your special moments here!

16 Blocks~

Noel and I have the hardest time agreeing on a movie to watch.

I could watch the Twilight series on repeat, and Noel could do the same with the Bourne movies. (I like the Bourne movies just fine..just can't watch them over and over)

We found this movie a few years ago, and watched it again a few weeks ago.

We BOTH love this movie.

Bruce Willis is looking a mess the entire time...but that's just part of the story.

The whole movie is action packed and suspenseful. I love plots with twists and this movie is full of them!

Here's the trailer.

So, if you're trying to find a good movie...check this one out!

Where did the weekend go??!~

This weekend FLEW by.

We got a nice start to our weekend by hitting up Cameron Village with Amanda.

I LOVE Cameron Village and crave Village Deli on a daily basis.

Old Navy was having a baby sale, so we bought Charlie these pjs for the fall.
Of course they have trucks on them. Charlie carried them all around the store.

While we were picking these pajamas out, Charlie reached under one of the racks and with his lightning speed fingers put something in his mouth.

It was a goldfish. And it was disgusting. Who knows where that thing had been.

We got a good start on the alphabet wall, and decided to put the letters in Walker's room.

Can't wait to finish painting all of them.

I also got labels for Charlie's sippy cups from Little Button Designs.
Now, he is OFFICIALLY set for school!

We also ate at PF Changs with Nana and Pops. This is by far my favorite restaurant of all time.

Have you ever noticed that 98% of the staff there are good looking? Was this a coincidence or is it always like this? Our waiter was cute, all the waiters and waitresses working were cute, and the hostesses were super cute. Hmm? Random thought.

I hope you all had a great weekend!!~

I Heart Organizing~

I really, really do!

Have you seen this blog?

Amazing ideas for keeping things organized. I LOVE it!!

Since my baby boo is starting "school" this year, he is already coming home with papers and drawings.

I fell in love with THIS idea on the I Heart Organizing blog.

Hopefully, I can keep everything sorted and in order!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!~

Like Crazy~

Have you seen the trailer for this movie?

Cry my eyes out. It looks amazing.

And I will be using the 2nd song from the trailer in class tonight. (Ingrid Michaelson's version of Can't Help Falling in Love).

Get excited students.

Mommy's Morning Out!~

Charlie had his 1st day of School/Mommy's Morning Out today!

I wanted to get an adorable picture of him before we left.

Let's just say Mr. Man wasn't interested in that idea.

Maybe a location change would help him sit still?

Not even close. He thought it was hilarious to kick his brand new book bag down the stairs.

And stomp on it.

Ahhh....finally!!! There's my little cutie pie.

He went right to his teacher when we got to school.

I guess I was moving when I took this picture, but here is his little name tag!

And a couple of creeper pictures to top it off!

Mrs. Marian said he was so sweet and happy the whole time!

I'm so happy my baby had a great first day!~
