Top Scenes~

Have you ever been asked what your favorite movie was?

I never have an answer to that question.

Mainly because I love a ton of movies.

BUT...I do have favorite scenes from movies.

Here are my top 5 favorite scenes from movies. (In no particular order)

1. The Swan Scene from "The Notebook".

Noah takes Ally on a canoe ride to show her all the swans in the lake.

Incredibly romantic.

The whole movie is fantastically romantic.

2. Tiffany's scene from "Sweet Home Alabama".

Patrick Dempsey (McDreamy) takes Reese Witherspoon to Tiffany's and says, "Pick one".

He's talking about the rings.

Of course she picks the most expensive/biggest bling ring they have.

I know...because I've tried the ring on in the actual store.

Not that nice!

3. Shower scene from James Bond "Casino Royale"

Nothing scandalous.

She has just finished killing someone.

Self defense of course.

It was her first kill.

She can't get the blood out from under her fingernails...even after washing them many times.

James Bond sucks the blood out for her.

Sounds gross if you haven't seen the movie...but it's not, and I love it!

4. Ending scene from "Wicker Park".

Josh Hartnett and his dancer girlfriend go through the whole movie trying to find each other, while someone else is trying to sabotage their relationship.

Finally, they meet up and discover the truth about all the mix ups.

Josh Hartnett sees his dancer gf in the airport.

She's facing the other way of course.

He approaches her.....slowly...and they reunite with a kiss and the most romantic song ever!!

5. Ending quote from "The Fox and the Hound".

Shocking...this one isn't romantic.

But it's so sweet.

And it makes me think of my bff Erin.

Tod: "Copper, you're my best friend."
Copper: "And you're mine too, Tod."
Tod: "And we'll always be friends forever. Won't we?"
Copper: "Yeah, forever."

Ohhhhhhhh......the tears. I'm about to start crying just writing this.

I love this movie! And if I ever have twin boys...I'm going to name them Tod and Copper.

Update on Life~

Just a quick update on what's going on!

*I'm still loving my job teaching at the high school. There are some rough days...but overall things are going great.

*Noel will be a college graduate in December!!

*I'm now in the Young Women's in our ward at church. I miss the Primary kids, but I'm loving getting to know the older girls.

*Noel and I moved to a new apartment a few months ago. We love the layout, location, etc. One bad thing. The people below us and above us smoke. Now, every room in our apartment smells horrible, and we go out with our clothes smelling like smoke. We're trying to figure things out...so hopefully we can get the smell out soon?!

*Last, but not least, I was in an article in Dance Teacher Magazine!!!!! (That might seem unimpressive to non dance people...but it's one of the biggest magazines in the dance world!) I was quoted in several paragraphs...ooohhhh....so I was pretty excited about that!

That's it for now. Hope you all are fabulous!!~

Reflection~

Every Friday, at the end of class, I ask my students to write a Reflection on their week.

I usually give them specific questions to guide their answers.

Last Friday, the question was, "Looking back on your behavior and work ethic this week, write what YOU can do next week and beyond to make this class better."

Pretty easy question, right?

You would think.

ONE student decided to tell me what I should do differently.

"I would ask the class what they want to do instead of me making up stuff that they probally can't do. Because if they do the stuff they want they would have more fun."

WOW. I'm not sure exactly what she was thinking...but this is a school, you know, a place where you learn NEW things everyday.

If I had them doing stuff they already knew how to do...they'd be booty dancing for 90 minutes everday.

I love students like her.~

Presidential Debate~

Here are some thoughts/observations I had from the Presidential Debate tonight:

1. Left-Handed: Both McCain and Obama are left-handed!! That is so weird. I have always wanted to be left handed...I think it's cooler than being right-handed. How unusual that BOTH candidates are left-handed.........

2. Ties: First of all...didn't LOVE either one of their ties tonight. And second of all, they both tied fairly skinny knots. Hmmm...

3. Sharpies: Both candidates wrote with sharpies....That's strange! Usually when I take notes on a notepad, I take them with a pen/pencil so it won't bleed through to the next page. That's just me, though.

4. Mediator Dude: I wonder who the mediator man is going to vote for.

5. Awkward: I don't think I could ever sit beside someone and just bash them for the entire night. It was making me feel so uncomfortable. That, and I was kinda ticked that the debate was on ABC during Private Practice's time slot! Rude!!

Out of the Hood Ballet Program~

I'm teaching ballet this year at the high school.

This is the high school's first year of actually offering ballet.

I love ballet. I love the discipline, the technique, the beauty of it...everything.

The kids seem to be enjoying it. Somewhat.

We were talking the other day about Marie Taglioni.

Yes. This is Marie Taglioni. She was basically one of the first prima ballerinas of the 19th century.

In the 19th century, ballerinas were the ULTIMATE SUPER STARS! Kinda cool, if you ask me.

Hopefully you're not asleep yet from my dance history lesson.

Marie Taglioni was so famous...someone bought her pointe shoes and made them into a stew to eat for dinner.

Gross.

So...I'm having this discussion with the girls. I'm trying to explain to them just how famous Taglioni was...so I ask them to tell me someone who is a famous superstar right now....someone that people would remember for years to come.

I'm thinking the Audrey Hepburn, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra type.

Their answer...

In case you have no clue who this is. This is Lil Wayne. Yes...his name is Lil Wayne. And yes, this is his mug shot.

I don't need to say anything else about this situation do I?

I immediately had to change the subject.

Lil Wayne? I have a lot of work to do...sigh....~
